Stanhope Parish Council was formed nearly thirty years ago, being a spin off from Kingsnorth Parish; those in the community wanted local representation. The Parish Council works for the community by:
running and maintaining a Parish Hall which provides a base for local clubs and a local venue.
on the behalf of the community provides views on planning applications and other proposals that affect the parish.
undertakes projects and schemes that benefit local residents.
works in partnership with other bodies to achieve benefits for the parish.
alerts relevant authorities to problems that arise or work that needs to be undertaken.
The Parish Council meet on the last Monday of each Month at 7pm in the Parish Hall with the exception of December (usually a summer recess is held during July or August). A break is held during the meeting so that those present are available to answer any queries over a cup of tea or coffee – this is an informal period during the meeting and not suitable for more formal questions or complaints which must be put in writing and passed to either the Parish Clerk or Chairperson at least 48 hours prior the meeting. For further details please contact the Parish Clerk via the Contact Us page.
